Mini Homemade Cinnamon Rolls (Easy!)

These are SO good! I mean DELICIOUS! My mom has been making them for years and years, and I think she got it from an old Southern Living recipe.

They shouldn’t take you more than 30 minutes from start to finish, and you can even make the cinnamon rolls the night before and throw them in the oven when you wake up!

Here’s what you’ll need (Yes, that’s it! You should have all of this in your pantry):

cin rolls 1

Open up the crescent rolls and lay them out with 2 opposite triangles connected. Push the triangles together with your fingers so that you have 4 flat rectangles. Mix 1/4 cup of sugar and 1 1/2 tsp of cinnamon then sprinkle on each rectangle.

Roll up each of the rectangles:

Cut 5 cinnamon rolls out of each of the rectangles & place in a greased 8 x 8 rectangle pan or a greased pie pan:

Once you have all the cinnamon rolls in the pan you can either cook right away or put in the refrigerator overnight for breakfast in the morning.

Preheat oven to 375 and cook for 12-15 minutes. While they are cooking make the icing (it’s SO good!!). You will need 3/4 cup of powdered sugar, 1/2 tsp of vanilla, and 1 1/2 TBsp of milk.

I love my cinnamon rolls doughy, so I only cook for about 12 minutes. Some people like them a little more cooked, so you would want to go a little longer. If you want them doughy here is what they will look like.

After they have cooled about 5 minutes pour the icing on, and they’re ready to eat!

Easy homemade cinnamon rolls:

  • 1 pkg crescent rolls (I used reduced fat)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp of cinnamon (if you like your cinnamon rolls more “cinnamony” then use atleast 2 tsp of cinnamon)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 TBsp of milk

Preheat oven to 375. Roll out crescent rolls into 4 rectangles (pressing the seal of the triangles with your fingers). Combine sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle on each of the rectangles. Roll up the rectangles, and cut 5 cinnamon from each roll. Place in a greased pie pan or 8 x 8 rectangular pan. (* At this point you can throw it in the fridge the night before if you are preparing early).

Cook at 375 for 12-15 minutes. While cooking combine powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make the icing. Once cinnamon rolls are cooked allow to cool for 5 minutes then pour icing over. Serve immediately.
